Become. Connecting. Growing. Multiplying.

So you want to be a youth coach?  (click here for a pdf version of our brochure)

Let's answer a few questions:

  1.  What are we looking for in a Youth Coach?
Great question!  We're looking for adult Spiritually Mature Jesus Followers who like to hang out with Teenagers.  In short, if you've BECOME a Jesus follower and you are routinely CONNECTING with other Jesus Followers and you are GROWING to be more like Jesus and you are looking for MULTIPLYING other Jesus followers by sharing your Jesus story then we're looking for you!

2.  What's expected of me?
Well that depends on what you want to do.  Mostly we need Family Group Leaders.  A Family Group leader receives material from Daren to present and teach during Family Groups.  High School Family Groups meet in homes.  Middle School Family Groups meet in the Youth Room, all Family Groups meet on Wednesday Evening.
Also, you will be expected to develop relationships with the students in your Family Group, by regular contact either by Facebook, email, Text, Phone call, etc...This is actually a very important component of being a youth coach, we place a priority on mentoring and shepherding the teens.
If you want to be a Family Group leader or if you would like to help with the Student Ministry in another role, just email youthcoachinfo@nhccyouth.com

3.  What if I don't know what to do?
Training is a key component of being a youth coach and Daren places a premium on making sure youth coaches have what they need to do their work effectively.  At least twice a year, typically once in the fall/winter and once in the spring/summer, Daren meets with all the coaches to discuss follow up from the previous year, and to prepare for the next season of Family Groups.  Every Youth Coach is presented with a training manual, and is taken through a youth coach training session led by Daren.

4.  How do I get started?
just send an email to youthcoachinfo@nhccyouth.com and Daren will follow up with you.

All prospective youth coaches must consent to a Background check.
